Complete registration forms, school documents, membership applications and other everyday PDFs with text, marks and signature images. Fill the space above the document while keeping the page underneath.
Add a text box to a blank line, a static form or a scanned page. Move it into place, resize the text, and adjust the font, color and alignment. Multiline boxes grow and shrink as you type.
Place crisp checkmarks, crosses and empty, checked or filled boxes on your document. Resize and recolor each mark to fit small form fields, and duplicate repeated answers with a few clicks.
Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP signature image and place it on the page. Transparent PNGs keep the signature background clear. Resize it proportionally, adjust opacity and reuse it during the session.
Enter values in supported PDF text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns and radio groups. Adjust field text size and color in Properties. DocuPen writes these values back into the original interactive form when you export.
Your additions are written into the original PDF instead of exporting screenshots of its pages. Existing page dimensions, text and graphics are retained where supported, while added text and vector marks stay crisp.
Use a full editing workspace on desktop or a page-width view on your phone. Mobile tools include page navigation, a Properties sheet and Edit text / Done buttons. Zoom in for precise placement without changing export positions.
Select a PDF from your device, or drag it onto DocuPen on desktop. Documents up to 50 MB are processed in your browser. Pick a page or zoom in to the area you want to fill.
Choose Text, Check, Cross or Checkbox and tap or click the page. Use Signature to upload an image. Move your additions into place, style them in Properties, and undo or redo changes as needed.
Choose Export PDF, set a file name and download a new copy. Open it in your PDF reader to review the result. Your original local file is not overwritten.
DocuPen processes your PDF on your device. You do not need to send a private document to a PDF-upload service to fill it in. Your latest project is saved in this browser so you can return to it, and signature images are remembered only with your permission.
Use your own browser profile for private documents. Closing a document clears its saved project. Export a copy before closing if you want to keep the finished PDF, and review the result in your usual PDF reader.
When usage measurement is enabled, DocuPen sends basic action counts using random browser and session identifiers. PDF names, document text and signature images are never included. Usage measurement respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.
No document-upload service is used. PDF editing and export run locally in your browser. The latest working project, including its source PDF, is saved in browser storage on your device so you can continue later. Anyone with access to that browser profile may be able to access its saved data.
DocuPen adds editable text boxes and marks above the existing page. It does not rewrite arbitrary text already embedded in the PDF. Supported interactive form fields can be filled directly, and blank areas on static forms can be filled with text overlays.
Yes. You can place text, checkmarks, boxes and signature images above a scanned page. The scan remains the background. DocuPen does not perform OCR or convert the scanned text into editable sentences.
Select Signature, upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image, then insert it on the active page. Drag it into place and resize it with the corner handles. A transparent PNG works well for handwritten signatures. Uploading a signature image does not create a cryptographic digital signature.
Only if you choose “Remember this signature on this device.” Otherwise, the signature image is excluded from the locally saved project. It remains available during the current editing session and is included in any PDF you export.
Use Continue editing on the welcome screen to restore the latest locally saved project. Exported PDFs contain permanent additions, so reopening an exported copy shows them as page content rather than separate editor objects. Closing a document clears its saved project, and clearing browser data can also remove it.
DocuPen starts with the original PDF and draws your additions into it. It does not resize pages or turn entire pages into screenshots. Original features are retained where the PDF-writing library supports them; byte-for-byte preservation and cryptographic signature validity are not guaranteed.
PDF documents can be up to 50 MB. Signature and other images can be PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 10 MB and 25 megapixels. The built-in Helvetica, Times Roman and Courier fonts support Western European text. Arbitrary Unicode and complex-script text are not supported by the current font pipeline.
Password-protected PDFs cannot be edited in this version. Open an unlocked copy instead. DocuPen warns when it detects a digital signature field because modifying the PDF may invalidate the document’s existing cryptographic signature.
